Silas is far to clever for my own good.
A few days ago, as we walked home from school and ate black berries along the way, he grabbed a berry that had one button that was still red instead of black. He pulled it off and low and behold, with the black juice on his fingers and the button, it looked like one of his baby teeth. So, of course, he turns to me and says; "MOM! I lost a tooth!" And I fell for it completely. He thought is was brilliantly funny.
The kid thinks on his feet faster than me. Not good.
Shaun, Silas and I were walking up to the board game shop in Nevada City and Shaun was telling him a secret... that the shop was magic and it had magic supplies for mages and magicians. Silas exclaimed; "Awesome!" I was walking a few paces behind and asked him what was awesome, trying to see if he would unwittingly spill the "secret" and the kid floored me. He didn't skip a beat and said, "Mom is awesome... you mom."
I have noticed things like that all this week. The kid thinks fast and thinks sneaky. *sigh* I am so screwed.
